It refers to fluctuations that occur regularly and periodically. The length of a seasonal cycle is always less than one year. Seasonal fluctuations can be quarterly, monthly, weekly, or daily. For example, the sales in department stores are the highest in the month of December because of Christmas. This happens every year and at the same time.
